What is Python?
Python was developed by
Guido Van Rossum at AT&T Bell Laboratories in 1991. It was initially
intended to be a quick scripting language for system administration tasks. In
2000, the first version of Python 2.0 came out. Nowadays, Python is used across
industries ranging from finance to healthcare to science.
Python is a general
purpose programming language that provides features necessary for both large
projects and smaller applications. This makes it ideal for beginners who want
to get started in coding. In addition, Python offers a strong community and
support from organizations like Google and Microsoft.
Python is one of the most widely used programming languages in the world today. The advantages of using python include its simplicity, speed, ease of installation, and cross-platform compatibility. On the other hand, Python has some drawbacks such as slow execution time, lack of libraries, and so no. Let’s know about the advantages and disadvantages of Python more widely.
Advantages
- Python is an
object-oriented programming language.
- It has many advantages over
languages like C++, Java, and Ruby.
- It is a high-level language.
This means that it is designed to make things easier for programmers.
- A lot of the code written in
Python is reusable. This makes it simpler for people who write programs.
- There are lots of libraries
that have been created for Python. These libraries can help with writing
software faster.
- You don't need to learn how to
use the command line if you want to work with Python. You just type
commands directly into the interpreter.
- The syntax of Python is simple.
- One of the best features of
Python is that it's very portable. If you move your program to a different
computer, you won't have any problems running it.
- Python is open source. This
means that anyone can view and modify the code.
- If you do get stuck, then you
can find out how to solve your problem on the internet. There are a lot of
websites that explain what is going wrong and how to fix it.
Disadvantages
1. No standard library
Python is not
standardized. There are many different versions of python out there. Most
people use 2.x version. But if you want to do something really cool, you have
to use 3.x version. For example, I am using python 3.6.0 right now. You don't
know what's going on under the hood of your code.
2. Slow execution speed
It takes a lot of time
to execute python codes. In fact, it is slower than C++. And we don't need it
in our day-to-day work.
3. Memory leak
Memory leaks are a big
problem with python. Even if you close your program, memory is still leaking.
So, it's hard to debug memory problems.
4. Unstable environment
You may run into some
errors while running python scripts. Sometimes, you get error messages and
sometimes it works fine.

Python is and the advantages and disadvantages of it. Now what do you think
